Beverly Jean (Lindgren) Gelao
November 6, 1930 – January 5, 2022

Beverly Jean Gelao (nee Lindgren) age 91, passed away on January 5, 2022 at her residence in Vadnais Heights MN. Bev was born on November 6, 1930 in St. Paul, Minnesota, daughter of Harold and Ruth (nee Cuthill) Lindgren. Survived by Eugene (Matt) Gelao, her loving husband of 70 years. Dear mother of Lisa (John) Brandt, Jerry (Patty) Gelao, Ken Gelao and his significant other Bunny Trollan. Also survived by her sister Betty Rosas (Robert), 3 step grandchildren Brenda (Pat), Lisa, Rob (Lauren), 6 step great-Grandchildren Jake, Joe, Angie, Nick, Jarret, Jack, 3 step great-great grandchildren Mia, Kayla, Ayanna, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents Harold & Ruth (nee Cuthill) Lindgren and her sister Arlene (James) Sarafolean.

Bev lived on Winona Street in West St. Paul as a child before moving to the eastside of St. Paul and Maplewood during her working years. During retirement, Bev resided in White Bear Lake and Vadnais Heights. She graduated from Humboldt High School in 1948 on the Honor Roll and was a member of National Honor Society. She served on the high school Reunion Committee until her death. Bev worked most of her life for various employers, including the State of Minnesota, and was proud to have retired from 3M Corporation as an Executive Assistant in 1992 after 20 years of service. In her youth, Bev was featured in a variety of beauty pageants, modeling roles and advertisements. She was a very social person and sang and performed with numerous choirs and theatres throughout her life, including the 3M Chorus and the Silver Harmony Singers. She coordinated many fun gatherings for family and friends. Bev thoroughly enjoyed playing the organ and piano until shortly before her death. Bev is greatly loved and missed. May her spirit live on through us.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11am, Friday, May 6, 2022 at St. John’s Catholic Church, 380 Little Canada Road East, Little Canada, MN, Fr. Thomas Balluff presiding. There will be a Visitation at the church Gathering Area one hour before the mass (10am). There will also be a luncheon immediately following the Mass at Little Venetian restaurant located 1 mile from the church at 2900 Rice Street, Suite 240, Little Canada, MN. Please come to the luncheon to reminisce and share stories. Memorials may be sent as a charitable contribution to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or as flowers via  Chapel Funeral Providers. Burial will be conducted privately at a later date.
